Happily passing on our donation to the folks at Home for Good

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our September 17th meeting. It was great to see some new faces and some old friends. We know that the start of the school year is a crazy time and we are hoping to double our attendance at our next meeting so please bring a friend to our December 1st meeting.

At our last meeting we hat the opportunity to hear about three great local charities:

Yong En Care Centre

Project Pari

Home For Good

If you would like more information about any of these charities, please click on the links above. The charity that was selected was Home For Good an organization that helps to recruit and support foster families in Singapore. According to the organization there are currently 800 children between the ages of 4 and 21 in 23 children’s homes across the island. Children 3 and under stay in the hospital until a foster family can be found. At this time there are 293 foster families carring for 330 children. Home for Good would like to be able to bring the number of foster families up to 500.  We look forward to hearing more from the folks at Home for Good at our next meeting December 1st. Hope to see you there.

Tubs of Love

Tubs-of-Love-2014-2The charity selected at our May meeting was Tubs of Love. We were very pleased to support this Ronald McDonald House project.

The project provides mothers who are in need  with a baby tub full of all of the necessities a new born baby needs. This gift gives the mothers an opportunity to celebrate the birth of their child and not just worry about how they are going to afford, diapers etc.

Tubs of Love works with the NUH Medical Social Work team to identify the mothers who are in need.

We were lucky enough to have Judy Chun from Ronald McDonald House come speak to our group yesterday to tell us about Tubs of Love and some of the other amazing programs they are running. Click here if you would like to know more about Tubs of Love.
